Here is a summary of the steps you will be following in your journey towards parenthood. The time taken during each step is also mentioned. The path to having a baby might be arduous but rewarding indeed.
It takes about a week or so from the first contact to seeing the doctor. Depending on the case load, the waiting time fluctuates so it would be wise to schedule the appointment as soon as you can.
The first consultation will include an elaborate and meticulous history talk of both of you, including personal, family, menstrual, fertility and medical history. If you had previously done testing and/or treatment at other Fertility centres, you may carry them so that we can have a look and avoid repeating the same tests. After getting a thorough outlook on your particular case, a treatment strategy will be planned that best suits your condition. Further investigations are recommended only if absolutely important. An Ultrasound scan will also be done during the first consultation itself, and repeated if necessary. Depending on the tests prescribed and review visits, this process will take 1-2 weeks.
After consulting Dr. Dalal, the best infertility specialist doctor in Delhi, a Fertility Nurse will be in touch with you and will explain all the procedures in detail, discuss the cost of IVF Treatment in Delhi and have all your consent forms signed. The fertility nurse or Dr. Dalal himself would then assist you in booking the treatment dates and also prescribing necessary medications.
The most important consultation will be with our chief embryologist Dr. Akanksha Mishra. Having more than two decades of experience and being an Oxford University post-graduate, she is the person who’d be making your embryos in the lab and hence, the most important person for you to meet. Not only she or her team will clear any further doubts but also assist you in gaining further information and explaining the exact procedures in detail. These procedures include facilities like PGS, ERA, IMSI, so on and so forth.
2 weeks after embryo transfer, a blood test (called beta-HCG) will be done to confirm pregnancy. Please continue all medications as prescribed. Do not stop them until and unless you are told to do so.
After about a month of the positive blood test, we will do a scan to see the health of the pregnancy as well as rule out ectopic pregnancy. Whether the pregnancy is singleton or multiple (eg twins) will also be known in this scan.
