Training Schedule for Doctors (Clinicians)
A. Basic Training Module of 7 days
- Stimulation protocols for Ovulation Induction and IUI cycles.
- Setting up of IUI lab.
- Setting up of IVF and ICSI lab.
- Comprehensive Infertility history taking and examination of the couple.
- Recruitment of the couple and cycle monitoring.
- IUI procedure and luteal phase support.
B. Advanced Infertility and IVF training of 14 days duration
- All IUI and IVF Controlled Ovarian Stimulation protocols .
- IVF/ICSI procedure details including, but not limited to, Folliculometry scans, Ovum pick-up, Embryo transfer, Post embryo transfer Luteal phase support, cycle synchronisation and monitoring, donor-recipient synchronisation, etc.
- Andrology training - both theory and practice including TESE, micro TESE, PESA/MESA and complete evaluation of male factor infertility.
- Cryopreservation and embryo freezing.
- Fertility enhancing surgeries including Laparo-Hysteroscopy assisting.
- Comprehensive Ultrasound guidance including Doppler parameters.
- Medico-legal aspects of pursuing IVF practice in your area.
C. 4 weeks FELLOWSHIP program at Janini IVF on “Advanced IVF and ART training”
1. IVF and Embryology
- Complete training on Ovarian Stimulation protocols.
- HANDS-ON training in ovum pick-up.
- HANDS-ON training in Embryo transfer.
- Training inside the embryology lab to identify COC complex and isolate oocytes.
- You will be given eggs and unfertilised embryos to handle and train.
- Embryo loading, basic ICSI training, freezing-thawing in Vitrification program.
2. Andrology
- Comprehensive Andrology training in both clinical and lab areas including semen analysis, semen freezing, semen processing.
- Hands on IUI.
- Sperm banking and cryopreservation.
- TESE, PESA, MESA, micro TESE procedures.
3. USG and 3D, 4D with Doppler evaluation of an Infertile couple.
4. OPD
- History taking.
- Physical examination.
- Evaluation of an infertile couple and review of investigations.
- Counselling sessions.
5. Vitrification training.
6. Sperm surgical retrieval methods.
7. Fertility enhancing endoscopic procedures.
Training schedule of Embryologists
We have a four week training module for Embryology training. This will be suitable to those who are new in the field, are thinking to venture into the field, or those who are existing embryologists who want to upgrade their knowledge or skill-set.
Eligibility criteria - Only these qualified persons will be allowed to enrol for this program:-
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Biology, Biotechnology or Biological sciences.
- Should be familiar with culture techniques and preferably should have experience in tissue handling.
- Should be able to communicate in English as that will be the language used in training.
Curriculum
Week 1
- Introduction to equipment, apparatus, consumables and disposables like pipettes, petri dishes, etc.
- Basic lab procedures training.
- Training about proper lab work ethic including asepsis and hygiene.
- Sperm preparation methods.
- Semen freezing.
- Identification of COC complex in follicular fluid.
Week 2
- Ovarian Stimulation protocols - lab perspective.
- Synchronisation of donor-recipient from the lab’s perspective.
- Denudation of oocytes and preparing the ICSI dish.
- ICSI - sperm handling and alignment of needles.
- Other micro manipulation training.
Week 3
- Continued practice on ICSI training.
- Culturing of embryos and Blastocyst culturing.
- Vitrification and thawing of embryos and blastocysts.
- Embryo selection training and embryo loading for transfer.
- Proper documentation in the laboratory and data maintenance.
Week 4
- Complete IVF lab set-up.
- ICSI and freezing training.
- Proper Standard Operating Protocols for Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assessment (QA) inside the laboratory.
- Trouble-shooting.
